You're Not Alone Read my articles and walk with me awhile...

The most successful road to recovery is by balancing all 5 ‘colours’ of what makes us human... The whole time. Which often drives me crazy because it’s quite difficult to do! I’m not always careful – I’m forever ‘testing’ exactly how careful I have to be. Exactly how balanced is balanced? The answer is always the same: fail to balance your life, particularly after trauma, and you will pay the price!

The colours - qualities - I’m talking about are these:



Physical Healing is blue and includes everything to do with our physical bodies (from vitamins to massage to traditional medicine)

Emotional Healing is red and encompasses everything to do with our emotions and with fully debriefing our trauma

Joy Healing is yellow and is vital for healing. It includes family, dancing, spirituality, singing, walking on the beach, the cry of seagulls and feeling the warm sun on your face.

Cognitive Healing is purple – a regal colour to denote the executive function of the brain. This includes learning about our diagnoses, therapies, reading, using the computer and exercising the very brain itself to get it working properly.

Last is Financial Healing, which is green like the apple a day in the nursery rhymes but with a dollar sign etched into the skin! This includes income, social assistance, the cost of housing, food, insurance, medicines and therapies and all the material things we need to stay healthy. Financial peace of mind is one of the things I will show you how to find.

If you read self-help books about the power of positive thinking to help you ‘get back to normal’, you will probably be no nearer to walking again, understanding your condition or paying your bills unless you have attended to those ‘colours’ too.

If you have the most wonderful physiotherapy and painstakingly learn how to walk again without dragging your foot, how will you answer the question “Do you feel better now” - when you are about to lose your house and your spouse is about to leave you?

Balance them and you can build a beautiful, vibrant rainbow.
